The afternoon
....after a well deserved coffee we visited two artisan groups based in Maseru - 'Positively Enpowered Artisans' who make jewellery from recycled beads and handmade beads using paper quilling and Seshoeshoe fabric and Maseru Weaving who make tapestry wall hangings and related products. The workshop used by Maseru Tapestries is a huge space but is in very poor condition as well as being very hot and dusty! I can't imagine how they manage to work there all day but they are moving to new premises and we are arranging to go and see it. I hope it is a better place. All the artisans have delivered products for display in a cafe and backpackers hostel, here, in Ficksburg and are working hard preparing stock for the Cherry Festival which takes place in November, also, in Ficksburg
