We are staying in the same area as the last 2 years but a bit lower down the hill...we still have a view of Lake Vinuela and the house is situated in a small olive grove. It's a lovely location though the track is quite up and down, rough in places and bendy!

After 36 years (for me) we left Orkney at the end of September and as you can imagine after so long there was sadness at leaving friends and leaving a place that has been so good to us! But it was time to go and it has been very exciting as well as somewhat exhausting!

Now it's nearly the end of January and we are well settled in our new home in the Highlands, in Dufftown also know as the Whisky Capital of the world! There are 7 distilleries and often the air has a rich aroma which is a great way to start the day...it's a pity we don't drink the stuff!

Dufftown is a great central location....easy to get to Inverness, Aberdeen or to head down to Glasgow. The sea is near at hand, too. We have been enjoying exploring the area which is beautiful and meeting new folk, all of whom have been so friendly and generous beyond belief.

A few photos of our garden and the surrounding area....

We welcomed a group of five from Scotland, to Casa Rosina for 5 days of creativity. Unfortunately the weather was not ideal but we did manage some sunshine! We did have a wonderful day last Friday (19th Feb) visiting the Alhambra in Granada. As it was my second visit I tried to photograph this wonderful place from different angles...looking up and looking down! Here are a few images from the day...

Well once again I've completely neglected you all...trouble is that once you get behind its very difficult to catch up and day after day goes by! So a quick catch up in the next few posts.....!  We had a small exhibition of work made during the one day workshops and the opening was good fun..lots of wine and tapas!
